BALLOT MEASURES

R-90 Reject this to repeal disastrous sex ed bill SB 5395. Says age appropriate, my idea of age appropriate and theirs differs widely. Sexual stimulation training really isn’t appropriate in school., especially before high school. We have a major problem with trafficking this will help the predators not prevent it.

SJR 8212 Allows the state to invest Family and Medical Leave Insurance Account and the Long-Term Care Services and Supports Trust Account funds in stock not just bonds or CD’s. Some other funds are allowed. Vote on your confidence in the stock market, but I trust the people who are against it more that SEIU and AARP who support it. Reject.

Advisory Vote 32  Senate Bill 5323  designed to levy a tax on certain carryout bags provided by retailers. Repeal

Advisory Vote 33  Senate Bill 5628 designed to levy a tax on heavy equipment rentals. Not sure if good or bad. The Senate passed almost unanimously, but the House was split with D’s and R’s on both sides. Our opinion will be ignored in any case. Will vote to repeal.

Advisory Vote 34 Senate Bill 6492 designed to increase the business and occupation tax rate and reduce certain surcharges. Repeal.  B&O needs to be reformed to tax net income not gross anyway.

Advisory Vote 35 Senate Bill 6690 designed to increase the business and occupation tax rate on commercial airplane manufacturers. Accept to avoid penalties from International governmental bodies
